Prototyping

Venture creates different levels of
prototypes based on your project's risks and timelines.

Typically, a project’s scope, risks and timelines determine the type and number of prototypes. Our prototyping approach includes:

Proof-of-Concept
A proof-of-concept prototype aims to prove that a proposed solution or subsystem can be designed to meet your goals. The prototype can be a functional model complemented by an industrial-design 3D model. Though requiring a small investment, a proof-of-concept prototype can yield important technical and marketing information as well as minimize risk as your project proceeds.

Form/Concept
A form/concept prototype is a refined industrial-design 3D model that lets you see how your product will look and function once it’s completed. We use this kind of prototype to generate feedback on your product’s shape, color, design, and overall look and feel.

Form, Fit and Function
Once we’ve finalized your product’s design, we built and test a fully functional, working prototype to verify full functionality and the product’s ability to meet environmental/regulatory requirements. You can also use such prototypes for your own verification and user testing.

Pre-production
The pre-production prototype is a final, working prototype produced from the drawings created during the design process. Your manufacturing group or a selected outside source can create this prototype. The pre-production prototype proves out the design documentation and enables the manufacturer to determine the assembly process. It can also be used for beta testing by end users and for final certifications.

Software
In some cases, prototyping of software can help intended users conduct an early assessment of the product. Venture has successfully used PC-based models to emulate a stand-alone-embedded product graphical user interface GUI. You might also find software prototyping useful for database modeling before detailed coding.
