Case Study

Wireless Tank Monitoring System

Situation: Our client marketed a tank level monitoring system that included a cell phone with each level-monitoring sensor. This approach was very costly and required their users to change batteries more often than was desirable. The client licensed Venture’s RFOS technology to replace the costly cell phone based radios and asked us to customize the board to fit their housing.

Solution: We provided the electronics hardware documentation for our client to build the RFOS radios and load the RFOS software to integrate with their level sensing modules. The radio was also incorporated into a base station that included a cell phone to connect back to the Internet. Each sensor could then communicate over the RFOS network software back to the base station.

Result: The new system has significantly lowered the cost and size of the sensor modules and has provided battery life beyond expectations. Our client has increased its market share and has received positive feedback on operation and battery life performance.
